Maxis and Electronic Arts released two new capsule kits for The Sims 4 on August 27: the Mean Girls Capsule Kit and the Clueless Capsule Kit. Both are priced at $3.99 each and available on PC/Mac, PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, and Xbox One.

The kits are CAS-focused, each containing themed outfits, accessories, and two Build/Buy objects. If you have been waiting for an excuse to dress your Sims in plaid skirt sets or velour tracksuits, this is the week.

What is in the Mean Girls Capsule Kit

The Mean Girls kit draws from Y2K fashion and the film's North Shore High aesthetic. The CAS selection includes miniskirts with matching sweaters for hall-strutting energy, a festive matching hat for that jingle bell performance outfit, Mathletes team jackets, and a velour tracksuit channeling the "cool mom" look. Multiple color swatches let you mix and match pieces to recreate specific characters or style your own Sims.

What is in the Clueless Capsule Kit

The Clueless kit leans into 90s nostalgia with Cher's iconic plaid set, layered tops, button-front skirts, workout wear, and Tai-inspired overalls. Like the Mean Girls kit, swatches and coordinating pieces encourage building outfits rather than wearing a single preset look.

Worth the $3.99?

Both kits sit at The Sims 4's smallest DLC tier, and their contents are narrow by design. You are paying for a focused batch of movie-themed CAS items and a pair of Build/Buy objects per kit, not new gameplay. That is the standard capsule kit trade-off: a tight aesthetic package at a low price point. If either film resonates with you, the items look specific enough to be worth the cost of a coffee.

These kits arrive in a busy month for The Sims 4. The free August patch already added the cosmic coils hairstyle and several size-inclusive clothing items, so there is plenty of new CAS content to pair with these kits even if you only grab one.
