The Sims 4's October 2026 patch landed on October 27 across PC, Mac, Xbox, and PlayStation, and it brings a welcome haul of free content aimed squarely at elder Sims. The update adds new hairstyles, clothing, Build/Buy objects, pre-made Gallery Sims, and over 150 bug fixes, all at no extra cost.
New CAS items for elders
Create-a-Sim picks up two new hairstyles available for adult and elder Sims: the Quiff Side Part Hair and the Half Down Waves Hair. On the clothing side, four new pieces join the wardrobe: a sweater, a lace dress, a sleeveless blouse, and a midi skirt with pockets.
Five existing clothing items also received new recolors: Grandma's Dress, Grandpa's High Jacket, Long Cardigan, Open Cardigan, and Loose Pants. Four new styled looks round out the CAS additions, giving players ready-made outfit combinations that pair well with the new pieces.
Build/Buy items and a styled room
The patch adds 11 new Build/Buy objects described as furniture and decor suited for warm, traditional living spaces. A new styled room featuring these items is also available in the build catalogue, so you can drop a fully furnished elder-friendly room into any lot without hunting down each piece individually.
Four new Gallery elders
EA added four pre-made elder Sims to the official Gallery: Raven Ballard, Elena Marquez, Daniel Kwon, and Malik Nasir. Each can be downloaded directly from the Gallery and placed into your save. The new styled looks appear to match what these Sims are wearing, so the CAS and Gallery additions tie together.
Bug fixes, eating changes, and Dine Out improvements
Beyond the free content, this patch includes over 150 bug fixes. Among them are improvements to eating mechanics, changes to the weight system, and long-awaited fixes for the Dine Out Game Pack. EA also took a new approach with this update by sharing fixes and Python changes with modders and CC creators a day before the public release, giving them a head start on compatibility updates.
For players who felt elders were underserved in the base game wardrobe and furniture options, this is a solid free addition. It arrives during a period where The Sims 4 is effectively standing alone as the active game in the franchise, with Project Rene paused and other spinoffs shelved. Between this patch and the recent Maker Packs hitting the Marketplace, there is still a steady trickle of new content flowing into the game.
