EA's September Gallery Showcase for The Sims 4 is live, and this month's theme is a back-to-school story called "The Rockridge Chronicles." The free download bundle includes a complete high school lot, a separate auditorium venue, and a household of familiar Sims reimagined as teenagers. Everything is available right now through the in-game Gallery.
Rockridge Heights High School and auditorium
The centerpiece is a fully built-out high school lot called Rockridge Heights High School. It features a two-story layout with a cafeteria, student lounge, hallways, and a schoolyard. The school mascot is the Llamas, naturally.
Alongside the school, there's a standalone Rockridge High Auditorium built as a multi-purpose venue. EA describes it as the spot for proms, graduation ceremonies, and other special events. Screenshots show it configured with balloon arches, graduation banners, and an interior ceremony layout, so it should work for several different occasion types without much editing.
Don Lothario, the Caliente sisters, and the BFFs as teens
The "Back in the Day" household is probably the most fun part of this showcase. It takes well-known Sims 4 characters and drops them into their awkward high school years:
- Don Lothario before he became the neighborhood flirt, depicted pointing finger guns at his own mirror reflection.
- Nina and Dina Caliente as teens still figuring out their personalities.
- The future BFFs (the Willow Creek trio) who are not yet best friends. The showcase poses the question of what event will eventually bond them for life.
It's a neat way to get players thinking about origin stories for characters they already know, and there's obvious potential for long-running save files or storytelling challenges.
What you need and how to get it
Gallery Spotlights are Maxis-created lots and households that anyone can download for free through The Sims 4 Gallery. Search for them directly in-game or browse the Gallery on EA's site.
To get the full experience, though, you will need several packs. EA lists the following as used in these builds:
- High School Years (expansion pack)
- Discover University (expansion pack)
- Mean Girls Capsule Kit
- Clueless Capsule Kit
- Artist Studio Kit
- Music Den Kit
If you don't own all of these, you can still download the lots, but some objects and CAS items will be missing or replaced.
EA is also spotlighting three Maker Packs that pair well with the high school theme: the Josephine Set by Mechtasims (furniture), the Replay Hair Set by MADLEN (six hairstyles), and the Dear Diary! Bedroom by ValiaSims (teen bedroom decor). These are sold separately through The Sims 4 Marketplace, where several other back-to-school Maker Packs have also dropped this month.
The Rockridge Chronicles showcase is available now and will remain in the Gallery for download. You can find the full details on EA's event page.
