In this follow-up episode of The Plumbob Report, hosts Becca and Danny revisit last week's food overhaul and the Project Rene pause, then look at what both mean for the Sims 4 and for other life sims worth watching.
The episode separates what has been reported from what is rumored or still unproven, so listeners can see which claims rest on sources and which are speculation. It also compares the latest Sims 4 quality-of-life changes with EA's published roadmap.
- The October 27 update: A fan-site summary points to a fridge Open option moved up in the menu, Family Recipes at 375+, leftover autonomy, TV locks by Sim category, a Sims Options pie menu, and save-backup tracking. The hosts note that real leftover behavior and pie menu performance are still unproven.
- EA's February 24 roadmap: The topics match areas such as autonomy, odd locations, object obsessions, sleeping, and dining. A fan summary does not prove the roadmap was delivered.
- Project Rene paused: GameSpot reports the project, also known as Lotus, is paused while EA prioritizes Evergreen. Nothing says how long the pause lasts. Sims5Mods ties it to Building EA's Next Chapter and a Kotaku-obtained email, all reported rather than confirmed. Evergreen, a rumored Sims 4 remaster with DLC bundled, has not been explained by EA.
- Why Sims 4 matters more now: Sims Community's recap calls it the only active release with regular content, and Sims5Mods argues the pause raises its importance. The roadmap window ran March through August, while the update is dated October 27.
- Life-sim neighbors: Loftia, a cozy life-sim MMO in Early Access on PC and Mac; Moonlight Peaks, an indie vampire life sim arriving on PS5 November 17; and Petit Planet, a free-to-play HoYoverse game for mobile and Switch 2.
