Goodhaven

Goodhaven is on the coast. Its first district, Linden Rise, climbs a hill above the harbor to a bench called the Overlook.

Hemlock Bend is going up among the conifers, with more distance between front doors. The Golden Pear, the town's most prestigious award, is on the lamps and the fences. Officially, it stands for prosperity.

Still to come

One open town with no loading screens between your front door and the bay.

Some of the old televisions in town still pick up Channel None after midnight. The station is defunct.

The household

You play a household of Goodies. They have needs, wants, fears, skills and jobs, and they decide what to do next without waiting for you.

They remember things. The family tree records who is whose parent and partner. Cooking for everyone ends with everyone at the table, unless someone has a shift.

Cook a meal first.

Still to come

Starting with almost nothing and working your way up. Following one family through several generations.

Relationships

Feelings come with a card. Tomas is Fond of Leo, so he seeks Leo out and their chats go better.

A Goodie can ask another for a promise. Breaking it costs trust and leaves a memory. Making up repairs some of that. The memory stays.

Still to come

Gossip. What happened at dinner gets around, and who tells it matters as much as what happened.

Neighbors with history, like the Fairweathers, who wrote a guide to married life and live behind two equally grand front doors.

Tomas's Fond of Leo card: chats with Leo go better, and their friendship grows faster.

Seasons and weather

Rain, thunderstorms, and trees that turn on their own schedules and drop their leaves underneath.

In winter the trees go bare, the windows ice over and icicles hang from the roof until the afternoon warms up.

Building

Build and buy works on any lot. Walls and rooms show the result while you drag. Doors and windows slide along a wall. Raise the foundation and the roof follows.

There are porches, columns, fences and gates. The catalog also has an autumn door wreath and a lantern that remembers whether you left it on.

Still to come

Upper floors and stairs that behave, roofs you can shape, curved walls, and yards that follow the slope.

The Seven Moods

The Goodies star comes in seven moods. You will see it across this site and in the Game Log. The Goodies in the game have more than seven feelings, and each one has a reason.

  • Happy
  • Flirty
  • Inspired
  • Stressed
  • Sad
  • Angry
  • Neutral

A new Game Log comes out every two weeks, with honest pictures of wherever the game is at. The roadmap keeps itself up to date.
