Loftia, the solarpunk life simulation MMO from Sydney-based indie studio Qloud Games, launches into early access on November 3, 2026 at 1pm EST. The confirmation comes after years of development, a Kickstarter campaign that raised over $1.3 million, and a closed beta earlier this year that drew more than 25,000 players.
The game will be available on Steam and the Epic Games Store for PC and Mac, with Steam Deck support at launch. A Nintendo Switch version is planned for a later date.
Pricing and launch discount
Loftia's base price is $29.99 USD (£26.99 / €28.99), with regional pricing available. A 17% introductory discount brings the price down to $24.89 USD (£22.40 / €24.06) around launch. The game will also include an optional cosmetics shop, though details on what that shop offers haven't been outlined yet.
What Loftia actually is
Set on floating islands in the sky, Loftia blends life-sim staples (farming, crafting, decorating, fishing, character customization) with MMO-style cooperative play. Players share neighbourhoods, take on puzzle and platforming missions together, and work toward community projects that open up new islands and resources. Getting around involves gliders, grappling lines, and jetpack boots.
Where Loftia tries to distinguish itself from the growing wave of cozy games is in its emphasis on collaborative progress and sustainability mechanics. Farming includes hydroponics and aquaponics systems, and the game frames community contribution as a core progression loop rather than a side activity. It's positioned closer to an online shared world than a single-player sandbox, though solo play is supported.
From two-person team to 40-strong studio
Qloud Games started in 2022 with just two people. The studio has since grown to over 40 members with experience across indie and AAA development. Loftia is their first release.
The game's Kickstarter drew more than 17,000 backers and surpassed multiple stretch goals. The closed beta in April 2026 gave the team large-scale testing data, and the studio has credited community feedback throughout development as a direct influence on farming systems, character customization, animal rescue mechanics, and social features.
What comes after launch
Qloud Games has outlined post-launch plans that include new activities, explorable areas, social features, and community-driven content. The studio hasn't published a formal roadmap yet, but the early access model gives them room to expand the game based on player feedback, similar to what we've seen with other recent indie life-sim launches like Paralives.
How to pre-register
Players can pre-register now through the official Loftia website to claim two limited-time in-game rewards at launch. Wishlisting on Steam is also available. The game's Discord server serves as the main community hub for updates and developer interaction.
It's been a packed year for life-sim releases and announcements, with InZOI pushing its PS5 version to 2027 and Paralives settling into its own early access run. Loftia's MMO angle gives it a different pitch entirely, and whether that collaborative structure holds up at scale is the big question the November launch will answer.
