InZOI's next major content update is targeting December 2026, and the developer team at Krafton has spent this week's diary entries pulling back the curtain on what players can expect between now and then. The headline feature remains the Celebrity System teased in late September, but a long list of quality-of-life fixes and smaller additions is filling out the update alongside it.
Here is everything confirmed or in progress from the October 16 developer diary, reported by Sims Community.
Create-A-Zoi is getting a memory system
One of the more quietly significant additions in the pipeline is a "Memory System" for Create-A-Zoi. Right now, switching a Zoi's gender or age stage wipes out previous customizations. The new system will remember those choices across switches, saving players from re-doing face sculpts and other tweaks every time they want to compare how a Zoi looks at different life stages.
Alongside that, the team is updating facial hair masks so they properly cover all beard options as the catalog grows. A few new hairstyles and at least one new beard are also in the works, though the diary didn't specify exactly how many.
Kjun's Friday note acknowledged that player-requested features like height sliders, appearance changes across life stages (including adolescence), and better options for combining bangs haven't seen enough progress yet, but the team is aware.
Pathing, autonomy, and the little frustrations
A chunk of this week's diary focused on the kinds of small behavioral quirks that slowly wear on you during a long play session:
- Zois will now prioritize objects on their current floor when fulfilling a low need, instead of walking to another floor because it happens to be "technically closer."
- If an object your Zoi is queued to use is occupied, they will now wait their turn instead of abandoning the action.
- Group movement has been cleaned up so Zois walk in straighter lines and stop colliding with each other when leaving crowded spaces like classrooms.
- Pathing now favors easier walkable terrain even if the route is slightly longer, mimicking how people actually navigate in the real world.
On the autonomy front, Kjun confirmed the team is continuing to refine the controls introduced in the October 15 patch. Specific work in progress includes getting Zois to place food appropriately, sit down, and eat without player hand-holding.
Hammocks, hitchhiking, and custom music
Not everything in the diary was about fixing pain points. A few new features stood out:
Hammocks now support a group interaction, letting two Zois rest together. It is a small social touch, but the kind of thing that makes a household feel lived-in.
A hitchhiking-style feature lets you prompt strangers to hop into your Zoi's car. The diary was light on details about how this plays out mechanically, so expect more specifics closer to release.
Players will also be able to load local music files into the game and play them through in-game speakers, stereos, and other music objects. A remote control interaction has been added too, so Zois no longer need to walk across the room to turn a stereo on or off.
The basketball dribbling animation, which previously cut off abruptly, now loops as long as your Zoi keeps hold of the ball. More positive reaction animations have been added for Zois to celebrate and cheer for each other.
Mac mod support and what Kjun is watching
While a full modkit for macOS is not guaranteed, Krafton is putting work into letting Mac players use mods through CurseForge and create their own using the MCP/LLM modding tools introduced last week. Kjun noted that concerns about AI-assisted mod maintenance and compatibility are being taken seriously.
For builders, the team is improving free placement so objects can be placed outside lots, and lot editing is in testing. Kjun was careful not to promise that lot rotation, lot relocation, or additional residential lots would all land before the end of the year. Family preset saving is in early preparation, and the team is exploring whether decorative buildings can be removed to create empty lots.
"Rather than making big changes all at once, we'll keep strengthening the fundamentals with frequent, smaller steps," Kjun wrote. With the PS5 version pushed to the first half of 2027, the PC early access period remains the primary focus, and December's Celebrity System update is shaping up to be the biggest single drop since launch.
