InZOI v0.10.0 is live on Steam and the Mac App Store as of today, and it is one of the largest updates KRAFTON has shipped since the game entered early access. Vacations, scuba diving, a full sit-down restaurant system, basement construction, a genetics editor, and a sweeping autonomy overhaul all land in a single patch, alongside dozens of bug fixes and modding tools.

The update arrives just days after game director Kjun's development diary framed the September patch as a reckoning with unfinished fundamentals, from autonomy behavior to basic need satisfaction. Those promises now have concrete patch notes behind them.

Here is what changed and what it means for your saves.

Vacations, water activities, and restaurants

The vacation system lets Zois travel to a different city by choosing travel companions, an accommodation, and a trip length. Door permissions at the resort are locked to whoever booked the room, and deliveries can be sent to the accommodation. Stays can be extended, shortened, or modified on the fly, with checkout at noon. Each resort offers its own activity set, from private spas to beachside dining, and the Cahaya central market now hosts a night market social event.

One practical detail worth noting: going on vacation creates a new save file, so your original city save stays accessible if something goes wrong.

Water activities arrive alongside vacations. Scuba diving requires a rented or purchased diving suit and moves the camera underwater, where exclusive resources and collectible treasures are waiting. Surfing works through a surfboard purchased at the surf shop and stored in your inventory. Once in the water, the self-interaction "ride the surfboard" gets you on the board, and "go surfing" in deeper water launches a balance mini-game using the direction keys. Both activities gate behind need thresholds: low energy, hunger, or sleep locks out diving.

Restaurants now function as a full dine-out experience. Enter with a group, get seated, order from the menu, wait for the chef to cook it, and pay once you have finished eating. The same system works for player-owned restaurant businesses, which also received a batch of management upgrades (recipe categories, employee scheduling presets, required-furniture warnings, and the ability to ban problem customers).

Autonomy and simulation depth

The autonomy rework is arguably the most consequential part of this patch. KRAFTON says the quality of autonomous behavior "has been significantly improved based on the three factors of time, place, and occasion." Individual automation behaviors can now be toggled per Zoi, per household, or city-wide. Beds auto-assign after a move. Houses get dirty at a slower, more realistic pace, with cleaning happening every two to three days instead of constantly. Obituary text messages now include cause of death.

Smart Zois now draw on more context when choosing what to do, factoring in current location, group activity, social events, and their job or business. Several bug fixes back this up: toddlers no longer repeat the same interaction endlessly, Zois stop ignoring fires in certain saves, and need prioritization actually works now.

Babies enter a new "baby steps" growth phase, and adult Zois lower their body position to meet babies at eye level during interactions. A sleeping newborn gets a pillow and blanket. Reaching the next age group now preserves previously obtained skills and developmental traits.

Sims Community, InZOI Update: Official Patch Notes and Bug Fixes...

Build mode: basements and expanded lots

Basement construction supports up to three underground floors on private residential lots. Public properties can now reach 29 floors (up from the previous cap), though some lots are exempt. Three new basement-equipped lots ship with the update across Dowon, Bliss Bay, and Cahaya.

Other build mode additions: furniture categories now appear to the right of the item list, and flower and leaf colors on flower trees are editable. KRAFTON also quietly removed the AI build feature.

New lots include five lodges, three restaurants, two presets, 17 build mode interaction objects, 60 public interaction objects, and 85 textures.

Active mode gets physical

Active mode now lets you press E to punch or kick and Q to pick up and throw objects. Landing hits knocks Zois back, reduces their health, and if health is fully depleted, the Zoi gets sent to a nearby hospital. Punching can provoke a fight, but throwing objects does not. These controls cannot target household members, and both punching and throwing consume energy.

Holding W now transitions from walking to running, and several balls now use realistic physics for pushing and rolling.

Create a Zoi and modding

The genetics system is the headline addition to Create a Zoi. You can generate an offspring from one or both parents' genes; selecting only one parent fills in the other with randomized DNA. Baby age groups are now available in the editor, six custom pitch-adjustable voices have been added (newborns inherit voice genetics from their parents), and MetaHuman has been updated from 5.0 to 5.6.

On the modding side, vehicle modding with a dedicated wizard is now available in ModKit. The in-game mod browser has been rebuilt for easier navigation, and verified official mods no longer auto-disable after updates. The in-game CLI received a substantial expansion, including post-process bone transform overrides (pose.set_bone, pose.clear, pose.get, pose.list_bones), enum parameter support for major commands, and improved search with case-insensitive matching across IDs, names, aliases, and descriptions.

Bug fixes across the board

The patch includes fixes for over 30 reported issues. Highlights beyond the autonomy fixes mentioned above:

  • Kiosk purchases that failed to complete now work
  • The 3D printer is interactable again
  • The "Kiss on Desk" animation misalignment is fixed
  • A visible seam between head and upper body skin tones in Create a Zoi is resolved
  • Mac users can change lens color again
  • CurseForge loading issues that blocked mod browsing are fixed
  • Footsteps are audible above the first floor
  • School violence warning messages no longer repeat on days the Zoi did not attend
